Kauai, Hawaii | 07.6-12.24

We made it to the Garden Isle of Hawaii! Kauai!! Meeting up some family for alot of fun in the sun! A much needed break from dyspraxia therapy aka swim class, jiujitsu, and drums and dyslexia instruction. Finally, summer fun!

Day 1:

We arrived late in the day, so we met up with our texas fam, checked in at Kauai Shores Hotel and just peeked at the beach by the hotel. We walked to the the nearby Coconut Marketplace for dinner before resting. The 15hr travel day and time change was a little hard so we needed some good sleep.

Hung out at Coconut Marketplace to chase chickens (they are everywhere here in the island!) and coincidentally ate dinner at Chicken in a Barrel (haha) and then ended the night with yummy snow cone at JoJo’s! That macnut icecream in the bottom was so yummy!

Day 2:

Woke up at 5am the next day because of the time change…so I decided to see the sunrise with my cousin and ninang while mommy and daddy slept some more.

Collected flowers before we headed to our 1st beach day!

Lydgate Beach…great for little kids! It has these huge boulder rocks that protect a small reef area from the waves and felt like a small pool. So great for snorkelling! We saw so many schools of fish! We even saw a fish bigger than my head!! We spent most of the day here before we met up with more family and transfer hotels.

Look at that fish mommy caught on camera with me!

I enjoyed building this stick wall before the tide came in!

Lydgate Beach

Spam musubi for some beach snacks and then some post beach Poke! Ahi tuna 2 diff ways from The Fish Express! The tuna here was soo fresh!! I looooved it!!

…then it was time to check in to our villa! Thanks to my lolo Joe and lola Susan, we were able to stay at Marriott Lagoons in Lihue for 5days! Check out our view from our balcony! I also enjoyed the resort pool! Mommy and I checked it out on our 1st day there!

Day 3:

Woke up super early. Played playdoh and enjoyed the view from our balcony. We Spent the morning at the pool. We played bean bag toss and designed/colored our tote bags from the Resort activities. Played in the pool for a while. Then had some yummy acai cups poolside courtesy of the hotel! I had 2 cups! Hahaha. In the afternoon, we went north shore to Anini beach and saw the sunset at Hanalei Bay. The beach was so quiet…I had so much fun playing with my cousins!!

…on our way north of the island. The views everywhere were so nice! My mommy said it looked like an upgraded Philippines!

We found a spot at Anini beach where it was secluded. I played in the sun and swam with my cousins all afternoon while the grown ups watched us seating in the shade and catching up.

…just here, collecting “treasures!”

The sun was taking a break for the light rain to pass…so we decided to pack up and check out Hanalei Bay for sunset!

We ended the day at Kenji Burger for some Ahi burger for the grown ups and wagyu burger for me!! 🍔🍟🐟

Day 4:

Woke up early again (this hawaii time is something else!) I made animal costumes for my cousins and then made book marks by the pool before we headed out.

Drove to Waimea Canyon…”the grand canyon of Hawaii” to look at some awesome views. Stopped at Red Dirt Falls before heading up to the canyon. I loved hiking up there. Ate some yummy coconut shrimp on our way back down and then we had some more JoJo’s shave ice before driving to Poipu beach to check out the hawaiian green turtles at the beach.

A little hiking and playing at Red Dirt Falls!

Made it to Poipu beach to see the hawaiian green 🐢 turtles!! I even saw one while snorkelling and it scared me a little! But my mommy said i’m lucky because it’s so rare to see them swimming with you in the water. I played at the beach with my couins and swam till dark!!

Day 5:

We rented bikes to bike along the Ke ala Hele bike Path! They put a tag along bike in the back of mommy’s bike and I had sooooo muuuuch fun!!! The path was beautiful and we stopped at some spots to rest and take photos. I loooooved it!!

…then we found this cool hibiscus tree tunnel!!

After a fun biking adventure…we cooled off with some fresh coconut water! So yummmz!

Before heading back to the hotel to rest and get ready for the family luau, we went to the Fish Express again for some more yummy poke!

You can’t do Hawaii w/o going to a luau! Our family went to the Smith’s Tropical Paradise Luau!

Ohana!

Starting the Luau with the Imu ceremony!

Day 5:

Woke up early to make it to Kauai Bakery for some malasadas! Yummz! We tried the Haupia, the ube, and the mango! All so yummy! I also got a giant brownie to eat on our way to check out Wailuma Falls!

After our detour to Wailua falls, we met up with family to ride the Kaua iPlantation Railway! It was a train 🚂 ride and halfway thru, we fed pigs and horses! The baby pigs were sooo cute!!

After the plantation railway, we headed to Kalapaki Beach area to celebrate Lola Lola’s heavenly 100th bday & Lola Bot and Lolo Mac’s wedding anniversary at Duke’s Restaurant! Some more family time! The hawaiian food was so yummy! And the hula pie was delicious!! I miss lola lola so much!!

Thank you for the accomodations for this vacation, lolo joe & lola Tutay!! Love you!

After tfamiky lunch, we headed back to Poipu beach area to look for some more turtles and to play and swim at the beach. On our way there, we passed thru the famous tree tunnel!

Around dinner time, daddy walked over across the street to grab us some famous puka dogs!! It was so yummy, my fave hot dogs in Kauai! I loved the mango sauce! We ate it by the beach while enjoying the sunset.

Last kauai sunset at Poipu beach!

Day 6:

So sad, last morning with my relatives and my cousins! Time to check out at the villa and island hop to Maui for a couple of days.

Thank you to my Lolo Joe/Lola Tutay, and my cousins for a fun time!

One last food truck in Hawaii! The Pineapple Express!

Delayed flight…but Maui bound!
