3.4.17. Day 6
My hemoglobin and my hematocrit from this morning's labs were a little low. The doctor told my mom that on the 3rd trimester, babies usually start to store iron. Since i never made it to my 3rd trimester, it is expected that I will be needing iron supplements and also blood transfusion to increase my blood count. They placed a new PIV on my right hand since the left hand one was leaking. Daddy held my hand during my transfusion. It took 3hrs for the blood to finish. I did so well!! Today, i'm still tanning under the phototherapy lights. I hope to get off of it soon so that I can open my eyes for mommy and daddy again.
